ISHM International Congress and meetings

An international congress is held every two years, and an international meeting in the years between congresses.

The 2011 meeting was in Barcelona, Spain, 7th to 10th September.

The 43rd Congress of the ISHM will be held in Padua and Abano Terme, Italy, from 12th-16th September 2012 with visit to Venice.

Other International meetings

The International Society has a useful worldwide calendar of meetings. This has quite a variety of meetings of interest to medical historians, some in the United Kingdom.

We have advance notice of HOMO PATIENS: Approaches to the patient in the ancient world? (Word document) at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, 29.06.2012-01.07.2012
